Making a Proxy Request
Before you can submit a document on behalf of an authorized filer, typically an attorney, it is necessary to establish a relationship with that individual. A request to create this relationship can be initiated through the People I Can Proxy For grid within the My Profile section of your Dashboard. The following steps are required to create a request:
1. |
Hover your mouse pointer over the PACFile menu and select the My Profile option. |
2. |
In the My Profile screen, click on the Add New Record icon that appears above the People I Can Proxy For grid. |
3. |
In the Add Proxy User screen, click on the Search Type dropdown to select the type of search you want to complete. |
4. |
For name searches, the last name, first name, city, and state of the person you are looking for must be specified. The city and state criteria typically pertain to the location where the individual works. For bar number searches, which are limited to attorneys, only the corresponding bar number needs to be entered. |
5. |
Click the SEARCH button. |
6. |
Based on the results returned, click the checkbox next to the name of the individual you want to proxy for and click the SUBMIT button. If a popup appears indicating that your changes have been saved, click the OK button. This action sends an e-mail and Dashboard notification to the person identified in this process so they can review the request. |
Note: Bar number searches are highly recommended, if available, when searching for an attorney. Since these numbers are never duplicated, this produces the most accurate and predictable search results.
