Resubmitting a Corrected Filing
When a filing is submitted, the court reviews each document in the submission for completeness and accuracy. If there is a problem with a filing, the court will return it on the condition that the filer will update and resubmit it with the proper corrections.
The following represents a few tips on how to handle this situation if it happens to you:
-
You will receive a Returned for Correction notification. Click on the Notifications link in the More Actions section of your dashboard, then click the View Notification icon in the grid. Only the notification will tell you what the court wants you to fix. When finished viewing the notification text, click the "X" in the upper right corner of the View Notification popup, then return to your Dashboard.
-
The report will reappear in the Upcoming and Overdue Reports section of your Dashboard. Use the Create Returned for Correction Report icon to access the report. There is nothing on the report itself that tells you what is incorrect. Read your notification.
-
Make your corrections and submit the report as you did previously. Resubmissions are not subject to fees. If you were charged filing fees on the initial submission, you will not be charged again.
